Position Purpose :
Reporting directly to the Corporate Compliance Manager, the incumbent will assist and support Transnet Engineering (“TE”) management in discharging their responsibility to comply with applicable regulatory requirements (ie applicable laws, regulations, rules, related self-regulatory organisation standards and codes of conduct, as well as supervisory requirements). The function sets strategic direction for all compliance-related initiatives and activities within TE.


Position outputs :
Identify compliance items for inclusion in the TE Compliance Plan • Implement the TE Compliance Plan • Draft and present compliance reports at the appropriate governance structures • Develop and maintain relationships with regulators • Conduct compliance risk assessments on the provisions of identified regulatory requirements • Evaluate compliance risk.

assessmentsand advise businesses on compliance risk treatment initiatives • Ensure the implementation of compliance
control plans in
accordance with the compliance risk treatment plan • Advise stakeholders on best practice measures to treat compliance
risks • Conduct control self-assessments and report findings to governance structures • Schedule and conduct compliance monitoring in accordance with the Compliance Assurance Plan • Investigate compliance exposures and regulatory matters arising therefrom• Formally raise and report on issues of non-compliance, recommend corrective actions, and monitor the implementation of corrective actions • Review new businesses for compliance with regulatory requirements where required •
Conduct compliance training needs analyses, and conduct compliance training in relation with the training plan • Facilitate awareness of new regulatory requirements • Manage and assist with the implementation of compliance projects, including representation on co-opted projects.

Qualifications & Experience :
A degree in Law/Audit/Commerce • A postgraduate diploma in Compliance Management would be an added advantage • 5-8 years’ experience in a compliance and/or audit role
